Charging Pumps For Nuclear Power Stations

Double Flow Radially Split

Designed for cycling reactor primary coolant at the pumping temperature of max. 284°C to treatment plant (as evaporator feed pumps) and for keeping temperatures in the reactor pressure vessel by multiple forced circulation within a closed loop of RBMK-1000 and RBMK-1500 boiling water reactors below the maximum allowable values (as recirculating pumps).
Motor driven flexibly coupled, horizontal, single-stage radially (vertically) split volute-casing centrifugal pump with a double entry impeller. Weld-end suction nozzle horizontal right, delivery nozzle radial to the top. Centreline casing support. The pump rotor is carried by the oil-ring lubricated radial and thrust and radial antifriction bearings. Shaft sealing: single mechanical seals.

Radially Split Barrel

Designed for by-pass treatment of primary coolant, to control its reactivity by adjustment (letdown and make-up) of boric acid concentration in the coolant (as boron injection pumps), for supplying axial shaft seal with clean de-aerated water at pumping temperatures up to 70°C (when used as seal water injection pumps), e. g. for main coolant pump in pressurized water reactors VVER-1000 (TsN 60-180) and VVER-440 (TsN 50-135) as well as for delivering liquid into the primary system to replenish liquid losses (leakages) and to compensate for volume changes due to temperature.
Motor driven horizontal centreline mounted, multistage radially split diffuser barrel-casing centrifugal pumps with a withdrawable cartridge of ring-section type. Single flow impeller arrangement, with all the impellers facing the same way. Axial thrust balancing with disc and thrust ball bearing. Shaft sealing: slit seals or mechanical seals. The pump rotor is carried by pressure-lubricated hydrodynamic plain bearings. Shaft sealing: mechanical seals. Flanged nozzles radial to the top. Furnished with a fluid coupling.
